Ujima operates on collective responsibility. We dismantle capital gates by keeping soundstages operational, camera trucks loaded, and production stipends flowing directly to underrepresented crews.

Three working pillars
Active Set Apprenticeship
Every participant works on narrative short and episodic productions under seasoned department heads. Directing fellows rehearse actors while camera fellows rig cinema packages and pull wireless focus under live call sheets.
Subsidised Cinema Glass
Fellows access full camera packages, anamorphic glass, professional sound packages, and five-ton grip trucks without prohibitive commercial deposits, backed by comprehensive gear prep bays and dedicated checkout technicians.
Festival Distribution Pathways
We bridge completed edits into theatrical screening blocks and festival programming slates. Every cohort film leaves post-production with color masters, deliverables, and industry press screenings ready for buyers.
